You’ve been away from training for most of the winter.
Sign up for an intensive 7 day camp to prepare you for the upcoming test or trial season.
What is a spring training camp?
At this seven day event, I’ll evaluate where you’re both at and get you back up to speed. The primary focus is fundamental skills and principles, reminding your dog what the standards and expectations are, bringing accuracy back to marking, sharpening your handling skills and developing your training approach. As we get to the end of our time together, you’ll feel confident that you have a plan and a path forward to continue your training.
Where are they held?
Spring training camps are held in Bruce Mississippi at Coolwater Farms. The grounds consist of 600 acres of prime retriever training real estate that include rolling hills, over twenty pieces of water and on site pet friendly accommodations with kitchen facilities available for you to stay in.
Who are they for?
There are two formats of training camps each spring. One geared to qualifying and advanced level field trial retrievers and one for dogs training and competing in hunt tests at the master level.
When are they?
Spring training camps usually take place from mid April into early May.
Dates for 2024 Spring Training Camps have been announced. the hunt test camp has been scheduled from April 7-13 and the field trial camp is slated for April 21-27. Registration will open on November 1, 2023 for these events.
